Asus new Portable Monitor looks ripped from a Duo Laptop

The Asus ProArt Display PA147CDV, a 14-inch touchscreen designed as a secondary display for creatives. With its tiny form-factor and ultrawide 32:9 aspect ratio, it peeks as though Asus has ripped the secondary collection off one of its Duo laptops and turned it into an exterior monitor.

The PA147CDV was technically declared last September, but Asus is presently showing it off at the NAB 2022 exhibition in Las Vegas and is announcing plans to discharge the monitor in Q2 2022 in North America at a cost that’s yet to be informed.

With its permission for Microsoft’s Pen Protocol 2.0 and a built-in dial conceived to mimic Microsoft’s Surface Dial functionality, Asus is launching the PA147CDV as an accessory for creatives glancing for a little extra screen real-estate without financing in a bulky second monitor or touchscreen tablet. Hopefully, it’ll be priced less than contending displays with larger screen sizes.

The PA147CDV has one HDMI port, a 14-inch 1920 x 550 IPS touchscreen, and two USB-C ports. Its stand permits it to be oriented horizontally or vertically.

As well as the PA147CDV, Asus shows off a duo of additional monitors released later this year. The ProArt Display OLED PA32DC 3840 x 2160 31.5-inch monitor, disclosed last September, will be released in North America in Q3.

It’ll be hooked by the ProArt Display PA348CGV, an ultrawide 1440p monitor with a 120Hz refresh rate announced at CES 2022. We’ll update this piece if and when Asus conveys back to us about pricing.
